1. I wanted to include the followed man, being inside of his home. He did not come in contact with the stalker. And the stalker came close, but did not accomplish the fulfillment of his fantasy. Foot Fetish No. 7 displays this reality.
2. Foot Fetish No. 8, is the confirmation that his muse made it inside, without physical interaction. And the man even has a partner, that lives with him. They toast with beer and continue their life, as a union.
3. I drew Nude Man Lying On Stomach No. 3, several times, as the title suggests. This version is my favorite. It was an awkward angle to make convincing on paper. I would alter the drawing, if another version, were created. There would be dramatic foreshortening, as I have done with more current figure drawings.
4. I remember seeing footage of stranded people, such as Hurricane Katrina No. 5 illustrates, on television. It was quiet a sight to see this was taking place in America. And the days became weeks for many, who seemed left for dead, as the water slowly subsided. People waited helplessly on rooftops and car hoods for aid.
5. There were many people stranded, and had nothing to assure them of being rescued. They were treated like criminals, and second class citizens. I remember the outrage over a comment, made by Barbara Bush. She said that many of the people taking refuge in the superdome were very impoverished, before Katrina. She described their current situations as an improvement, like some kind of luxury. At that point in time, they were called refugees. Hurricane Katrina No.6, was drawn to capture the desolation of a period, plagued by natural disaster, and societal disappointment.
