1. " Above The Brink ", is a piece I decided to revisit after years of leaving it unfinished. I believed it was worth continuing to work on, until completion. I was adding details to this drawing, when I was visiting one of my sisters. She was not a fan of my erotic drawings, and we would argue about her considering it porn. I disliked the term being related to my artwork ( at that time ), and preferred it to be classified as erotica instead. She would frown at it, and this made me doubt myself, and my ideas. This drawing was one of the pieces that made me stop drawing explicit artwork, and focus on trees, because it was safer, and received more approval, especially from my big sister, who is the one who told me to keep drawing, when I was a little boy. I did not want to disappoint a hero of mine. But, fortunately as time progressed, I put my pen to paper and continued to indulge in my erotic ( pornographic ) ideas. And I learned to embrace it without shame, regardless of how it causes me to be perceived as a person.

2. The perspective of " Deep Throat " turned out well. My favorite area of this piece is his lips, wrapped around the thick shaft, with it's bulging vein. Veins make me think of blood, in which can make me suddenly feel nauseous. I look away when blood is drawn from my arm. But, I wanted to capture the appearance of a full erection, throbbing in the mouth of another man.

3. " Make-up Sex During Laundry " is about the pleasure and pain of a relationship.

4. " Hermit Woman Praising The Lord In Oak Forest ", was inspired by an Alice Coltrane album entitled " Transcendence " that I have on cd. There are some songs, that are sung in Sanskrit, in which is an Indian language. The particular song " Sivaya, " is my favorite, and really moves me spiritually. The women's voices, make me invision a scene such as the one I created.

5. " You've Changed, " is a suitable title given to this piece. I decided to give it the name, after thinking about the song, with the same title. I am quite familiar with Sarah Vaughan's version of the tune. "You've changed. That sparkle in your eyes is gone. Your smile is just a careless yawn. You're breaking my heart. You've changed. " I love these lyrics. I figured, this is what I will name this drawing. It was created during the period, when I was experimenting with ink washes and Micron pens, combined.
